Special skills is a style of mastery of the rules of the road, reducing the risk of vehicle collisions by anticipating dangerous situations, despite weather conditions. This lesson is designed for students who would like additional practice and are very close to taking their behind the wheel test or recently got their driver’s license.
For this lesson the following is covered.
Correct hand positioning when holding the wheel to drive straight, make a left, right or U-turn.
Safe lane changes using 4 steps.
Look far ahead and at the same time maintain a safe travel distance, driving at the posted speed limit.
Know how to prevent a vehicle collision.
Tips on how to drive without distractions.
Freeway driving, north and southbound getting on and off ramps safely. (only if student has prior freeway experience with our school)
Refresher of what a “Point of NO Return” is.
Reminder of where most vehicle collisions happen, day’s and times.
Practice and Improve multiple left unprotected and protected turns through busy intersections.
Practice and improve right turns on red lights.
Overall driving evaluation of student’s performance at the end of the lesson is given.
